An important part of our mission is to help develop and nurture the future of film making in all media platforms. Providing learning opportunities for young and budding filmmakers is at the core of who were are and what we do.
We are currently living in "The Age of the Image" and students of film are not just about Hollywood and show business—they are also learning a valuable communication tool for the future.
The annual Nacogdoches Film Festival is our signature event, but it is not the only thing we do to help young filmmakers achieve their aspirations.
We also provide scholarships to film students, as well as financial assistance to the annual SFA Summer Feature Film production. The SFA Film Program has been producing talented professionals for the past 33 years and one of our goals is to help the program continue to grow.
In addition, we feature film industry panels during the annual film festival, coordinate expert film industry guests for SFA film program classes, and, beginning with the 2017 Festival, we will provide opportunities for high school filmmakers to showcase their work.
We are also currently in the developmental stages of forming a partnership with the SFA Film Program, to conduct an annual summer camp for high school students.
